Shield of Faith works fine (as per the custom script) but unlike the other RoT Modified spells, its in game description doesn't seem to reflect the changes.

Yeah, we lost some of our custom descriptions for spells that Kaedrin has modified. There isn't any comparison utilites for tlk files that actually work, so we will leave Kaedrin descriptions and keep the web page up to date. We will be updating Kaedrin content much more regularly and its going to be uber painful to go through by hand and replace text over and over.

The spell gives more than you expect if you just read in game, so its acceptable. If it was the other way, then we'd have to put that on a must merge list.

Yea, some game exploits like this one - and say, the practiced spellcaster bug, or expose weakness - and are now the norm so it's going to hard for people to accept how its supposed to be.

Nerfing things will always cause frustration. Best you can do is boost the weaker stuff.

Not sure what you mean by that. Our server is already very un-standard if you ask me(insane gear, ER's, etc), so why bother trying to do that and just make things more unique? As long as everything is well documented(needs some work on that front IMHO), there's no problem with this I think.

The Documentation is kind of horrible but most of the issues comes from Kaedrin's site I believe.
He has implemented/changed dozens of feats and such that haven't made it onto his webpage. It is kind of cool when a useful feat randomly pops up in game (Like the Wildshape one that counts as proper Wildshape uses for feat requirements, the Monk Practiced Spellcaster-esque feat that increases unarmed damage by 4 levels up to your HD or the feat that gives you an extra unarmed attack each round when you are using weapons). It just makes building a character very difficult - I'm not even sure what the requirements are for those feats but the last one in particular sounds pretty good for something like a Kama Monk.
The main thing I'd like to see RoT-side that hasn't been listed on the webpage are the optional components of Kaedrin's stuff, which are turned on and which are turned off.

EDIT: One thing I'd love to see for an in-game description is exactly how much XP (or at least whatever formula it uses) added to the description of the Wish Shard Store regarding the XP boon. I just wasted a Wish Shard on it just to see how much it would give me - I expected a confirmation box to appear or something that told me exactly what I was getting out of the deal but instead it just made the transaction.

You actually gave me a pretty good idea mate. Creating some "vanilla comparison" documentation would make it far simpler for new players than documenting RoT changes then pointing people out to Kaedrin's site.

The "all about forges" thread is a good example. If we can create a broad topic thread suddenly it becomes easy to find the information and its also much, much, much easier to update the information and keep it clean.

I could create such documentation, but Brian, you'll need to answer a bunch of questions for me to document it lol.

EDIT:

In-game documentation: to avoid confusion(the menus are going to become difficult to navigate) we could create a library where you can find various books with the information. It would have bookcases filled with one of the same book, which would respawn more books over time. Similar like the guild key spawners.

Each subject would be covered by a single bookcase.

In addition, all of the information would also be on the forums.

Wish Shard Catalog

I agree that having a comprehensive catalog for Wish Shards would be good. I do state the amount of XP and gold you get / level on option #1 of the dialog, but that's pretty lame and painful to go through. What I am going to do is make option #1 pop a help window ( like we just did for the forge ) that has a full catalog that shows and will vary depending whether you are on ROT or CEXP.

I'm not sure the books are going to be a good delivery method. People just wont get them for the most part.

GUI based help is the way to go, even a consolidated one would be good. Click help option, get a menu of available help topics, then pop the window for that given topic.

Sounds good. I was only suggesting this because of some common questions I've been getting.

I'll send you some stuff regarding this.

Spirit Shaman seems to have been returned to using Wisdom/Charisma for spells instead of just Wisdom like in the previous release. I know a few people besides myself who have made SS based off the previous release using just Wisdom, especially since there are so many items available for SS. You may wish to make everyone aware of this change, considering it significantly reduces the effectiveness of this class's spellcasting ability (DC's) and anyone with this class made prior to the new release will most likely have to rebuild their character.

That is very interesting. I definitely kept the settings in the classes.2da file alone. I kept it Wis/Wis and just verified that the file is correct. I'll take a look at the CMI spell includes file to see if the change was made in there and got overlooked on merging.
